We provide a fun and enjoyable dental office where kids learn to keep their teeth clean and healthy for a lifetime. Our doctor recommends that parents accompany their children into the examination room during this initial visit. This will allow the doctor to review/discuss dental findings, treatment needs and answer any questions the parents/child may have.
If you are accompanying your child into the treatment area during subsequent visits, we suggest that you act as a ‘silent’ observer only. This will facilitate us to establish a rapport and a trusting relationship with your child which is very important not only determining the success of your child’s dental treatment but also for your child to leave with a positive dental experience which can help your child to have a positive outlook in dentistry.
Here are some tips to help prepare your child for their first visit:
- Expect your child to have a pleasant experience.
- It is best if you can refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear and anxiety, such as “needle, pull, drill or hurt.” Our office makes a practice of using words that convey the same message but are pleasant and not – frightening to the child.
- If your child is suffering from dental pain (a toothache, etc.) emergency treatment will be given.
We ask all our parents to feel free to contact our office at 972- 758-8777 during normal business hours to ask any questions. Your child’s doctor or an educated staff member will always be happy to answer any of your questions!
